Community Helpers

Earhart Elementary’s first graders recently had a special opportunity to learn firsthand about the important roles community helpers play in our everyday lives. The students welcomed several guests into their classrooms, each representing a unique profession that helps keep our community strong and thriving.

Visitors included a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), a Lineman, a Pilot, a Pharmacist, a Respiratory Therapist, a Police Officer, and an employee from the United Way nonprofit. Each presenter shared about their career, explained the responsibilities that come with their job, and demonstrated some of the tools and equipment they use daily.

Students were especially excited to see real-life equipment up close, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of how these careers impact the world around them. From learning how linemen keep the lights on, to seeing the tools used in healthcare, to hearing how police officers keep our community safe, students were fully engaged and curious throughout the presentations.

This event not only helped connect classroom learning to the real world but also gave students an early appreciation for the many different paths they can pursue in the future.

A big thank you goes out to our community volunteers who took time to share their knowledge, experiences, and passion for their work. Their willingness to invest in our students made the day both meaningful and memorable!community helperscommunity helperscommmunity helperscommunity helperscommunity helperscommunity helperscommunity helperscommunity helperscommunity helpers
